7 Days Umbwe Route

Day 1: Arusha – Moshi

Arrival and check in into your Arusha Hotel, relax and have lunch. Depart for Moshi at 1400hrs arriving at 1530hrs. Dinner and overnight at a hotel in Moshi or (Pick up from Kilimanajaro airport and transfer to hotel in Moshi)

Day 2: Umbwe Camp

After breakfast drive to Kilimanjaro National Park gate at Umbwe for starting the climb. From here hike within the forest through a narrow ridge between Umbwe and Lonzo rivers reachin Bivouac No. 1 (known as Forest Caves at 2850m – Camp and overnight. Day 3: Barranco Camp The Path continues follwoing the ridge, then leaving the forest through open moorlands to reach Barranco Hut at 395m. Camp oand overnight.

Day 4: Barafu Hut

his day stars off with a steep climb out of Barranco valley crossing Karanga Valley and finally reaching Barafu Hut at 4600m. Camp overnight.

Day 5: Ascend to Uhuru Peak

Early morning start to reach the crater rim at Stella point, continuing to Uhuru Peak at 589m. Decend to Mweka Camp.

Day 6: Descent to Parks Gate

The day is spent in descending down to the park Gates – Overnight at hotel.

Day 7: Arusha Hotel

Spend the day at your Arusha Hotel, Relax before your transfer to the airport for your flight out.
